Robbery fell 39.6%, vehicle theft 31.9%, burglary 27.3%, aggravated assault 23.6% and larceny 16.1%, while the county's population grew nearly 3% to about 387,000. These are Sheriff's Office numbers; Bradenton and Palmetto police report separately.
